“Finding what to draw has become an adventure; like casting for a production in which characters are varied yet governed by the script.  With close examination during the initial drawing process the natural elements–roots, branches, the flowers–assume a complex personality while providing small lessons in perseverance and…at times, humor.

“The delicate weed that springs up from an asphalt lot, the limb that turns back on itself and keeps on growing when confronted with a brick wall…it is these little messages of survival and beauty that is the core of this work.”
